Timeline
Dylan and Kate Yarter found the studio in Texas: paintings, handmade goods, markets, and commissions.
Dylan begins drawing the BizarreBeasts, the characters that become the animated series.
BizarreBeasts launches onchain and finds its community.
The series wins the $100,000 A3 Startup Award from the Arts3 Foundation, administered by Decentralized Pictures.
Full time. The studio moves to Bentonville, Arkansas, and takes the name Studio Bizarre. Also this year, Episode 1 is finished: Dylan on every drawing, Kate on the score and every sound in the picture. Four months after the move, work from the studio is selected for Our Art 2026, the region’s juried exhibition, presented by Walton Arts Center.
Who does what
Dylan
Paints the large scratched-line works in black and white. Draws every character in the series by hand, never from a prompt, and built the studio’s own production tools to turn those drawings into finished episodes.
Kate
Paints in palette-knife color. Co-founded the studio in 2018 and runs its music: the score, the songs, and the voice direction for the series, and her own records.
BizarreBeasts
The animated series lives on its own site, with the characters, the episodes, and the community. This page is the bridge; the series is the destination.
